Festival Director / Co-Founder

Katya Jacobs is one of the two Founders of the Electric Film Festival. She has been the festival director from it’s inception and strives to create opportunities for developing artists to show their work, find future collaborators, and connect to the wider community within Electric Film. Katya trained as an actor at Bournemouth Film School and strives to create collaborative projects that artists can learn, develop and grow from.
When entering the industry it is often believed that passion alongside creative control gets stripped from the individual artist. Katya Jacobs believes that the individual artist’s work and personal development should not only be showcased but celebrated in high quality venues with a like-minded audience. These venues can vary from cinemas to gallery spaces in which these emerging artists can learn and grow in a safe space and meet/collaborate with industry professionals.
